A recent report reveals a 30% increase in hours spent gaming as people look to games consoles to stay busy during lockdown periods. Spending on games increased 400% during the time of the pandemic so far. The games industry is forecast to reach a total value of $170bn by the end of 2021. That makes it more lucrative than video and music combined.

“The streaming industry, especially when it came to gaming, streaming and e-sports such as Rocket League, Call of Duty league. With all of these things, we are becoming one of the largest media niches in the world right now. So I’m thinking how is there this huge niche out there and we don’t have any identity from the Muslim community in that space.”
